Thankful Friday: The Goad Invasion

Alan's family is here with us this week - his mom and dad and his brother, Brad and his wife, Rainy.  It is so much fun to have them here with us.  I am fortunate to have a family of believers that love each other.

We got to go on the Architectural Tour yesterday.  We were on a boat going through our beautiful city.  I thought you would enjoy seeing some of the beauty here.  Chicago is truly an amazing city and I have grown to love it, dearly.

At "the bean" - Brad, Rainy, Lyla and James (ignore the random people to the right :-))

Caught this butterfly visitor in Grant Park

Alan's home away from home

This city has beautiful architecture

I am fascinated with the underside of bridges -

I love our glass building that reflect the older, more ornamental buildings

This building is curved to go along with the curve of the river - love the reflection

The brand new and the old side by side - Trump Tower and the Corn Cob

The corn cob up close - pretty amazing

This is the view as we headed out toward the lake

Looking back toward the city

It was a great time had by all.  I am thankful for my family and for the opportunity I have to live in this great city.  Anyone want to come visit?

  1. I LOVE architecture and Chrisann, you captured it so beautifully. Your city is gorgeous...and if I could, I would get there more often. I love, love, love your butterfly picture as well.

I guess seeing things like you posted only reminds me of why I grieve for my sweet Ruby Grace, who unless the Lord heals her blindness will never see such amazing things...and although we can describe to her...how can she really comprehend the corncob building? {ya' know what i mean?} But we'll sure give it our best, while continuing to pray that God heals her eyes.

    1. That would be my prayer too! I also feel like she will know beauty in ways that the rest of us can't! Love you, friend!
